Greetings from the Great American Southwest!

Here in the 110 degree desert climate I rely heavily on good gear in my outdoor adventures. I have for years now bought the best off the shelf equipment I can find. Some of it is fantastic, some have been real lifesavers in this harsh enviornment (literaly), and well... some of it is just crap. The #1 lesson is that price means nothing, good design and quality manufacturing is key. Brand names are increassingly irrelevant. This blog will chronicle my adventures and the gear I use. I'll be frank about what works and what dosen't. I also want to hear about your experiences.

See you on the trail,

Chuck
